Kirra Balmanno is a mountain lover and trail runner, competing in international ultra marathons and following her curiosity on endurance expeditions in high altitude environments. She has run far and wide, from the incredible Himalayas of Nepal to the desert mountains of Oman, through the Caucasus and all over the Alps. She shares her time between her veterinary telemedicine company –Vetli – and the mountains, especially the Swiss Alps and the Himalayas.
Kirra is an athlete for On running, on their International Trail Team.
The fourth edition of the Ultra Tour Monte Rosa, sponsored by On, was held on September 5-8. Hundreds of ultrarunners from around the world took on up to 170km and 11,300 meters of ascent in a daredevil race created by Lizzy Hawker, five-time winner of the renowned Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc - UTMB.

Kirra Balmanno lives an amazing double life. In winter, the Australian works as a vet in the UK. Come summer, she takes to the Swiss Alps in a camper van to run some of the world's toughest trails. In 2017 she won the 116km Ultra Tour Monte Rosa.
